Commission Rate Schedule
The agreed table of commission percentages a carrier pays an agency, typically varying by line of business, new versus renewal, and sometimes by volume.
Rate schedules are the yardstick for verifying a commission statement. Without a stored schedule, an agency has no basis for saying a payment was wrong — it can only confirm that money arrived.
Schedules are rarely a single number. Rates differ between new and renewal business, between lines, and sometimes step with volume. Encoding that structure is what allows expected commission to be calculated per transaction and compared against what the carrier actually paid.
